Breakthrough – Man United on the verge of completing second summer signing with £55m fee agreed

Manchester United have agreed on a fee with Crystal Palace to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka, reports say. The Red Devils have been chasing Wan-Bissaka since the summer transfer window opened and had two bids turned down by Palace.

But the Daily Record now claim United have agreed on a £55million fee with Palace, which will make Wan-Bissaka the most expensive full-back in Premier League history.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has prioritised the signing of a right-back this summer and identified Wan-Bissaka as the perfect option.

Young, English and experienced in the Premier League, Wan-Bissaka ticked all of United’s boxes.

The 21-year-old burst onto the scene last season with Palace, making 39 appearances in all competitions and establishing himself as one of the best full-backs in the league.

Wan-Bissaka will become United’s second signing of the summer after sealing the signature of Swansea midfielder Daniel James earlier this month.

Solskjaer’s plans to overhaul his squad are now in full swing, and the Norwegian boss will target adding a midfielder to his next ranks.

Wan-Bissaka is currently on international duty with England Under-21s and is unlikely to complete his move to Old Trafford before he returns from Italy.
