Transfer Update – Man United boss set to complete second summer transfer for spanish wonderkid

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal for Spanish teenager Mateo Mejia. The 16-year-old winger is set to join United from Real Zaragoza.

Mejia has attracted interest from a host of clubs both in the Premier League and Europe with his performances in the Spanish youth leagues. But the Sun reports United have won the race for the wonderkid’s signature and will pay an initial £600,000 for his services.

Mejia will join United’s academy ranks as the Old Trafford club continue their plans to bring in more talented youngsters this summer.

A move for Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set to finally go through this week after weeks of negotiations.

Crystal Palace had rejected an initial offer from United for the England Under-21s defender but a breakthrough is set to be made with the Red Devils paying more up front.

Solskjaer is then set to turn his attention to a central defender and possibly a midfielder, depending on the developments with Paul Pogba.

Manchester City also look set to win the race to sign Harry Maguire in an £80m deal ahead of their rivals.

United have also so far been frustrated in their pursuit of West Ham defender Issa Diop.

Solskjaer is keen to bring in younger talents this summer rather than expensive signings, with Sean Longstaff, Declan Rice and James Maddison also on United’s radar.
